Overview

The BBS01b Mid Drive kit is our favourite at Bike Conversions UK. It is extremely versatile, offering an amazing combination of torque and power whilst still being very efficient and quiet. The 250W motor is completely street legal in the UK and will be delivered to you with a 15.5mph speed limit. However, if riding off-road, you can remove this limit enabling you to reach speeds of up to 24mph.

A mid-drive motor works by transferring its power through the gears of the bike instead of directly to the wheel, meaning it can always be operating within its optimal RPM range, making it very power effective and great at climbing hills. When paired with one of our larger batteries the 250W motor can easily power you along all day without any issue.

Important Things To Check

Please ensure that the bottom bracket of your bike is between 68-73mm wide.

You will also need to consider space around the bottom bracket for the motor. This kit does not fit press-fit bottom brackets.

The motor will replace the current chainring or crankset set you have.

Bottom Bracket Examples:
This kit will only fit 68-73mm square taper bottom brackets and threaded bottom brackets. Some press fit bottom brackets (BB86, BB92) can also work with an adapter, call us if you’re not sure.

If your bike has a Square Taper Bottom Bracket or a Threaded Bottom Bracket, this kit will fit your bike.
If your bike has a Press Fit Bottom Bracket, get in touch as this kit won’t fit. We can recommend an alternative kit for you.
